Artist statement
Kathleen LeGault has creating art since she was little. Elementary school through high school she discovered drawing and painting as her first love.
After she graduated from high school she began at Allan Hancock Jr. College in Santa Maria, CA. There she was introduced to ceramics through a friend who encouraged her to take a ceramics class with him, and she fell in love with throwing clay on the wheel. Kathleen graduated from Allan Hancock Jr. College with her Degree in Applied Media and Design.
In 2013 Kathleen began going to Central Washington University to pursue a Bachelors of Fine Art. She was able to live close to the school studio and devote close attention to drawing, ceramics, and painting. While there she developed a new love for wood firing ceramics where she participated in several firings, and a new interest in metals and jewelry. In June, 2016 Kathleen graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
She has exhibited in several exhibitions in WA State including Gallery One, and 420 Loft Gallery and a publication in Manastash Magazine. She currently lives and works in Shelton, WA.
